A workflow will contain a series of steps to be completed. One of those steps can be to cast a vote or make a decision. This is called a decision step. Decision steps are easily identified by the document icon () next to the step name.
1. Set up your vote
1.1. Rename your decision step. Click on the edit icon () at the top right side of your screen.
1.2. Input the question. Click on the question field and fill it to update the question to be asked.
1.3. Set the answers. Click on the two answer fields and fill them to update the two answers.
1.4. Set the potential outcome of the vote. Click on the dropdown next to the answer to set the outcome if this decision is selected. Currently, you can select either End of activity or Next step (pending).
🚩 Currently, our system only supports two answers and outcomes per question.
1.5. Set whether the vote will be secret or not. By default, the vote is secret, but you have the option to display the vote by selecting show next to show decisions and comments. However, the step owner will always be able to see the results.
2. Assign decision makers
2.1. Add persons that would be involved in voting. Click on (+) Add and enter the email address of the team member. If that person is not in your contacts, you can add them by clicking on Add new contact. You can then input their first name, last name, email, and phone number, and click on Add. If you'd like to remove a person, you can click on the delete icon on the left ().
2.2. Select them as voters. Click on the voting icon () next to the person's names to identify them as voters.
2.3. Set the voting order. Check the option to Ask for decision in a specific order. You can then drag and drop the person in the order you want by clicking on this icon ().
1.5. Set the majority. Select the number of people who need to vote for the decision to be made next to if a specific number of people chooses this.
3. Cast a vote. Select the answer. Once selected, the outcome will be displayed on your screen.
Proceed to the next step. Once the document has been approved and signed, you can move on to the next step of your workflow. Click on Next Step.
